6th Legacy of Stones River Symposium - March 20, 2010
As we approach the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, we turn our thoughts to the men who fought and their leaders. What were their motivations and experiences? Choosing sides often did not come easily, particularly in a divided Upper South state such as Tennessee. This powerful symposium, sponsored by Stones River National Battlefield and the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area, will look at the decisions men made and the challenges they faced on the battlefield, as well as visit the sites at Stones River National Battlefield that show how these decisions shaped our landscape.
